Spiritual Growth

The education ministry promotes the spiritual and religious growth of Christ Church members. Our vision is to create opportunities for faith development through formal and informal programs within the parish for children, youth and adults. Adult Forums  – Winter/Spring Schedule

Adult Forum

On Sunday mornings during the Program Year (September through May) we offer the Sunday morning Adult Forum – a spiritual formation program covering topics related to matters of faith and Christian living. Topics vary by week or by series and are drawn from biblical studies, ethics, theology, church history, and contemporary affairs. Forums are held in Etherton Hall of the Parish House from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM. Coffee and refreshments are served. For more information, contact Bev Kegan at bevlee.lhms@goeaston.net or 410-745-2528.

Wednesday Book Discussion Group

Looking for some great discussions and small group sharing? Join us on Wednesdays from 11-12:30 PM in the parish house library. Participants read and discuss the book during the meeting, so there is no preparation required. Come and share a book for a session! For more information, contact Mary Jane Wyant at mjswcrab@yahoo.com or 410-745-8561.

Thursday Morning Bible Study Group

Tuesday Bible Study

This self led informal group meets every Thursday from 8-9 AM at the Blue Heron Café. The scriptures for the following Sunday are read and discussed. Informal discussion centers on the group’s experiences and the relevance of the material to current situations. It is always fun and a mystery as to how the passages will unfold on Sunday morning. Each week stands on its own, so attendance can be as your schedule allows.   Try us out for fellowship, purpose and fun! For more information, please contact Pat Martin at 410-745-6049 or pamartin@atlanticbb.net

Thursday Morning Adult Education Class

Wednesdays at 9 a.m. in the Lea Library. We have started a new book, Lies We Believe about God by the author of The Shack, Wm. Paul Young. This is not a book to give you answers, but a book to start a discussion. Agree or disagree, but grow in your own understanding of some of the cornerstone beliefs about God. Since we read/discuss during the meeting, no preparation is necessary, and you can share a book. Join us for a week or for the whole book!

Adult Inquirers: Confirmation & Reception

Are you new to the Christian faith, coming from another denomination, or an Episcopal “lifer” who is just plain curious? Christ Church offers an “Inquirer’s Class” for adults who would like to learn more about the roots, practices and beliefs of Christianity, the Episcopal Church and the traditions and teachings that you may have forgotten or never knew. The Inquirer’s Class is strongly recommended for anyone considering Confirmation–the mature act of affirming ones commitment to his or her baptismal promises—or Reception—the act of publicly welcoming those who were confirmed in another tradition into the Episcopal Church. Both Confirmation and Reception occur during the Bishop’s annual visitation. For more information, please contact Steve Mosher at 410-745-9076.

Lenten Suppers & Discussion

Tuesday evening Lenten Suppers sponsored by the Bay Hundred Covenant Community Churches address a variety of social justice issues that impact our society and the world at large, and offer us as a community of faith, the opportunity to address these issues within our home area.

Popcorn Theology

PopcornThis Lenten Series offering explores a variety of different spiritual concepts through movies that are viewed. We meet in Etherton Hall each Monday during Lent. The movie begins promptly at 7 PM and popcorn and soft drinks are provided. A discussion and conversation follows each film. If you’re interested in helping or want more information, please contact Bevlee Kegan bevlee.lhms@goeaston.net or 410-745-2528.

Youth Confirmation

Young people age fourteen or older who are interested in learning more about making a mature affirmation of their faith and commitment to the church are welcome to attend our confirmation classes. For more information, please contact Lori Ramsey at the parish office. 410-745-9076 or lsramsey@gmail.com.
