Heritage Fund

Facility-Planned-Giving

The Heritage Fund is managed by five Christ Church parishioners who serve as trustees and are appointed by the vestry. You can also learn more about Planned Giving, by visiting the Episcopal Church Foundation website.

In August of 2013, and again in the summer of 2017, the vestry authorized expanding the number of trustees of the Christ Church Permanent Endowment Fund from 3 to 5, approved a strengthened and more transparent endowment fund, and officially renamed the fund “The Heritage Fund of Christ Church – St. Michaels Parish”. You may download the Fund policies here.

Monies from the Heritage Fund are invested to provide a reliable source of income to the parish for generations to come. The Fund is managed in perpetuity as a true endowment, meaning the principal will not be invaded. Income earned and appreciation on the investments is used in the following manner: (1) for capital needs of the parish; (2) for outreach ministries; (3) for new initiatives and ministries; and for (4) special projects. Annual spending limits are set by the fund to preserve principal and provide for growth. Gifts to the fund are welcomed and may be made in a number of ways: a bequest in a Will; Life Income Gifts; Retirement Accounts; Life Insurance; a Life Estate; or Appreciated Property. For more information on making a gift to the Fund, please contact one of the clergy  at 410-745-9076, or info@christstmichaels.org.
